We know you’re all itching to get the party started as soon as you arrive, but before you jump headfirst into the fun, let’s chat about transport in Albufeira - trust us, this is the kind of insider info you’ll thank us for later!
Reaching Albufeira is super easy - there’s regular daily services to Portugal from across the UK, with non-stop flights from most of the major cities, including Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and London airports. There’s no airport in Albufeira itself, so you’ll fly into Faro Airport, which is located just 47 minutes away from your destination. Flight time to Faro Airport is just under three hours long, but this is all dependent on where your flight departs from. Airlines offering services to Faro Airport include Easyjet, Jet2, Ryanair, British Airways and TUI.
Once you’ve firmly touched down at Faro Airport, there’s a number of ways to get around and make your way to your accommodation. You could hop on a bus from the airport to the town centre, or opt for a cab. Alternatively, why not book one of our airport transfers and you’ll be whisked straight off to your accommodation - easy peasy. And on the day of departure, you and the rest of the girls will be picked up from outside your accommodation and driven back to the airport.
When you’re ready to explore this vibrant coastal town, the local buses will be your go to! They’re affordable, convenient and an absolute doodle to navigate. There’s loads of regular services that are perfect for discovering beautiful beaches such as Praia dos Pescadores or Praia da Oura. But if sun-soaked relaxation isn't what you’re after, then why not head to the charming Old Town for a spot of shopping and sightseeing? If you and the girls would prefer a more personalised and direct service, then there’s plenty of taxis around Albufeira, which will get you from A to B in no time!
Parking in Albufeira
Now, we reckon it’s probably unlikely that you’ll want to rent a car during the Albufeira hen party, but never say never! If you and your group fancy hiring a car and doing a bit of exploring, then you’ll definitely want to know about the parking situation here. Generally, car parks are well signposted, with some being pay and display, whilst others are free.
Although the idea of free parking sounds great, we’d always recommend heading to a secure, paid for car park whilst you’re here, especially if you’re parking your hire car up overnight. It’s also a good idea to research secure car parks in advance to avoid any stress on the day. Just remember, driving in a foreign country can be tricky, and the roads are hard to navigate in Portugal, even for experienced drivers!
