The miles and miles of beaches draw the crowds and provide a perfect place to get a tan and take a dip in the Mediterranean. Thanks to its popularity with visitors, there is also a ton of fun stuff to do if you are a more active bunch. Benidorm is particularly popular with the British so if you want to travel abroad but want to keep some home comforts then Benidorm is the place for you.
When the sun goes down the town has a reputation for wild and hedonistic nights that have drawn partygoers, hens and stags in equal measure. You can really let your hair down and enjoy the nights out here. Benidorm is big and bold and friendly for hen parties who love to have a good time. The huge number of bars, hen party activities and stunning beaches is sure to set your head spinning. And that’s before you get the shots in! There’s a good reason that hens have been flocking here for years.
Getting around
In the 1950s, the mayor of Benidorm saw its potential as a resort town, and he decided that instead of building outwards along the coast, he’d build upwards. What does this mean for you? Other than Benidorm’s stunning skyline, it means that you and the girls will be saved from any blisters from your new heels as everything in the city centre is near and within walking distance.
Having said that, Benidorm is a big area and outside of the main strip, some areas certainly aren't walkable, so it's important to carefully consider where you're staying. Rincón de Loix is a long way from Poniente for example, you wouldn't want to walk that in the sun. Even where the English Square is comfortably walkable from Old Town, if you make the journey in the midday heat then you'll be a sweaty mess by the time you get there. Just the same, some of the big clubs on Avenida de la Comunitat Valenciana are actually quite some way off from the main nightlife area, meaning you might actually need a cab.
When the weather’s this good and there are so many sights to see and bars to stop off at, why would you want to do anything other than walk? However, we totally get wanting to rest those party feet.
If you’re flying to Benidorm, you’ll arrive at Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport, around 36 miles from the centre. We can include airport transfers in your package to make everything easy and hassle-free. Unfortunately, you can't catch a direct tram to Benidorm from the airport, if you would prefer to take public transport then the best option is normally an ALSA coach, while you're looking at around 50 minutes. But again, you might not want to be dropped off at Benidorm bus station, which is why a private transfer is particularly popular for Benidorm and something we would strongly push.
Once you’re here, the main area is very well served by buses and trams, with the tram taking you along the coast so it's ideal if you fancy a trip over to Altea, Alicante or Calpe. If you're looking to go to the beach, the Old Town and Poniente beach, then the bus is more suitable. Of course, taxis are also available if you fancy riding in style. If you have any Benidorm hen party activities that might take you a little further out of the city centre, transfers are often included in the package.
Tips and ideas
Spending a day by the sea is a must and it gives you and the girls a fantastic excuse to get the bikinis out and explore some of the most amazing beaches around. Each of them offers something totally different. Poniente beach stretches beyond the picturesque Old Town and is the ideal spot to relax and take loads of photos. This stunning golden beach offers soft sand and a slightly slower pace than some of the other beaches. You'll also find a promenade where you can eat some lunch or explore through the shops.
The Levante Beach promenade and nearby streets are where you go for drinks promotions, neon lights, loads of watering holes and the kind of night out that is amazing (at least the bits you can remember of it!). It’s not all about the beaches though. Why not explore the waters off the coast rather than just admiring them from the beach with a catamaran cruise or one of our jeep safaris if you want to head inland? Head over to Calle Gerona to find plenty of British pubs (serving pub grub), karaoke bars and cabaret shows.
The third beach we want to highlight is Mal Pas, a much smaller one than the two we've highlighted, near Old Town. If you're heading to Old Town, which you should do if you have time, then this is a nice addition to your day and is a bit more sheltered. Having said that, due to the smaller size, it can feel a bit crowded during the summer months.
Make sure you don't leave any valuables unattended if you run into the sea or head to a bar. Remember to pack some sun tan lotion as well, as you don't want to return home with a painful burn.
Inland there is also something for every hen group. If you are thrill seekers then Aqualandia water park will be a great use of an afternoon, but it's important to know this is a seasonal activity, so it's shut for 6 months of the year, therefore you should check availability and we can help with this process. You will get to try stomach-dropping rides, artificial waves and G-force inducing slides all in satisfyingly cool waters.
If you’d rather slow it all down for an afternoon instead then why not head up the mountains to a luxurious villa and a spa session that will help you either prepare or recover from a big night out in Benidorm.

When it comes to nightlife, Benidorm has it all. From traditional pubs to lively bars and pulsating clubs, there's something for every party animal out there.
Calle Gerona and The Strip
This is where you'll find loads of top bars waiting for you to dance the night away. Expect neon lights, great drinks promotions and flashy showbars that are perfect for a hen night where you want to go big or go home. Located in the Levante area, you'll find a lot of British and Irish bars, meaning you can expect a few big screens playing sports, traditional British & Irish food available and predominantly a British customer base.
While the Spanish nightclubs don't really kick off until later, here you'll find people drinking and enjoying themselves throughout the day. You may even get to enjoy some live acts for free, to attract punters through the door. Being mainly in a row, you can easily hop from one bar to another. In the summer time, some of these bars do get pretty busy.
English Square
Found where Avenida de Mallorca and Calle Gerona meet, the party starts at 11pm and doesn't even think about slowing down until the wee hours of the morning. Trust us, you're in for a wild ride! You may also hear the name British Square, both are used commonly, while you can expect plenty of live music venues and late night bars. This isn't really your daytime option, it's more of a popular area late at night. Again, it has a number of venues packed close to each other.
Levante Promenade
Here you will find a number of bars and outdoor terraces with views of the seafront, creating that holiday-feel. Who doesn't want a cocktail while looking out at the beach. Expect these bars to be pretty popular in the afternoon, when the sun is out and people want a nice view with their drinks. While the English Square gets a bit intense, this is more of a relaxed pace. If some people in the group want to hop in the sea or get a sun tan, then this is an ideal spot to stop off for some drinks or some food.
The Old Town
Ok, our team have gone on trips to Benidorm a fair few times, it's easily one of the most mad and wild party places in the world. But Old Town is a completely different place, you'll feel like you've actually left Benidorm completely. If you feel a bit fed up of all the British pubs and want to see some of actual Spain, not to mention eating some tasty Spanish cuisine, then you should consider a trip over to Old Town.
Between Levante and Poniente, you'll find plenty of tapas bars, cocktail bars and decent restaurants. You may have heard of 'Tapas Alley', well its actual name is Calle Santo Domingo and as the nickname suggests, you'll find plenty of places to eat tapas here.
Of course, going to Old Town doesn't mean you can't enjoy a good few drinks, you should head over to Carrer dels Gats to check out the bar scene, while you can also expect to see more Spanish locals drinking here.
If your groups is looking for somewhere LGBTQ+ friendly, Old Town is commonly more suitable, with some ideal bars to be found. Just be aware that the nightlife starts quite late here.
The Spanish Nightlife Area
We've covered off bars and British pubs that you might want to drink in, but one of the most important aspects you need to work out is where you'll finish the night. Benidorm is home to some huge nightclubs, but they're not generally near the English Square. The two main spots are Avenida de la Comunitat Valenciana and N-332 area. With this in mind, you might actually need to book a taxi, or again we can arrange private transfers for your group in advance from your apartment.
