Cardiff is a city of two halves; Cardiff City and Cardiff Bay. The former encompasses the castle and most of the bars, clubs and restaurants, while the latter offers stunning waterfront views and iconic landmarks. The city is easily walkable and compact, with a flat landscape and pedestrianised streets in the main shopping and bar areas. You can walk between the two areas in approximately 15 minutes. If you’d like to cycle between the two, you can hire bikes for £5 per day including insurance, all you need to do is download the Brompton Bike App. There is also a regular bus service and you can purchase a day pass for just £3.80 enabling you to hop on and off whenever you like for 24-hours.
Cardiff Central Train Station is in the heart of the city and has both buses and cabs directly outside to transport you and the girls to your accommodation. You can also book a transfer through us in the activity section, meaning a suitably sized vehicle will be there to collect you and take you as a whole group.
The Welsh capital began its life as a Roman fort, but has since become a bustling city. Where the fort once stood, you will find Cardiff Castle, built in the 11th century. The building remains a central focus in the city centre, which is now bursting with lively art and music venues, boutiques, bars and modern hotels. The city is easily explorable on foot or you can hire bicycles to visit the many attractions.
Millennium Stadium, home to the Welsh Rugby Team and the biggest stadium in Wales. Book a stadium tour or go and see a match just for the nice ‘views’ of course.
Sophia Gardens / Bute Park - if its green spaces you crave then you can’t go wrong with a visit to these adjoining parks on the west bank of the River Taff. There are extensive cycle path and a couple of pubs to enjoy
Cardiff Bay is home to shopping centre Mermaid Quay, a freshwater lake, attractions, shops and eateries. Taking approximately 15-minutes to walk from the city, the views are spectacular and the sea breeze will definitely blow those hangover cobwebs away!
Millennium Centre is the National Arts Centre for Wales and you can expect to see top West End shows such as Wicked, Hamilton and Chicago, plus live music, comedy and immersive experiences.
Cardiff International White Water is based at The International Sports Village in Cardiff Bay where you can enjoy many water-based activities including paddle boarding, white water rafting, indoor wave and much more.
