Near Leeds Station
If you're not locally based and you're all travelling in from a different city by train, then it can often be easier opting for somewhere near the train station, especially with how central it is. The heavy bags and suitcases when you all arrive will mean people will be very grateful to see a short distance walk when getting off the train. Then you have a very short walk to all of the main nightclubs, shops and restaurants.
Call Lane
Many of the groups we speak to want to stay really close to the bars and nightclubs, so they don't have a long journey back at the end of the night, or to get to the bars at the start of the night. If you can relate, then Call Lane is a great area to consider. Just a heads up, this area can be noisy at night, but that shouldn't affect you, unless you have a few older members in the group.
Greek Street
What type of hen party are you after? If one of the words that comes to mind is 'classy' then this might be the area for you, as you're based right near many of the more upmarket bars and restaurants, with some really nice cocktail bars nearby. You're incredibly central, but it won't be anywhere near as noisy as The Calls.
Merrio Street
Greek Street is a great spot for live events, whether it's comedy, music or even an event you might have booked tickets for. You may want to plan in advance where you'd like to head for the night and if you're looking to attend some live music, then this may move up in your priority list.
Leeds Dock
This is a favourite within the office, even if it's a bit calmer and not quite as wild, as the views can be really nice straight from your room window (if you pay for a waterfront facing room). You're based in the centre still, so you don't have a long walk, but you're in a beautiful area and it's a lot more quiet at night and in the morning compared to some of the other spots I've highlighted.
Frequent train services means Leeds is really easy to get to, if you book your tickets in advance you can also save money! You have direct trains arriving from Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Sheffield, so it's well attached to the rest of the country. But on top of it all, the station is actually very central, ideal if you have chosen accommodation nearby.
Once you arrive at your destination there are taxis and buses available outside the station to take you all to your accommodation.
Almost all activities we sell are based in the city centre, while all of the restaurants, bars and nightclubs are inevitably as central as possible, while it's all easily walkable. While you will find you won't commonly need a taxi, you might want one on your way home, especially if in heels or coming back from the Dock. Uber also operates in the area, so you can easily call one when needed and share the cost with your group.
Did you know you can book a transfer through us? We can arrange for a suitably sized vehicle to pick you all up and take you to your apartment or hotel together, keeping the party vibe alive. Private transfers are ideal as it keeps everyone together, while you can even arrange for a bottle of booze to be in the vehicle. This allows everyone to bond together rather than being split into modes of transport or separate taxis.
We would normally discuss buses and trains around town at this point, but you most likely won't need one on a Leeds hen do, it's quite a unique city for that.
For those of you who need to drive, parking can be challenging as with any city centre. Some of our accommodation does have its own parking, please check the finer details on that when booking. It's such a common issue where groups will presume every hotel has parking and turn up in a car to find there are no free spaces, most hotels nowadays need to be informed in advance, so let us know if you do plan on driving over.
You can also download the JustPark app, which allows you to book spaces in advance and helps you locate exactly where they are, saves driving around for hours looking!
Some hotels will have nearby parking and we will try to detail all of this on the hotel pages. In fact, you might be able to get discounted parking via the hotel, so it's always worth checking before you arrive. Weekends and Bank holidays are the most busy, while if a festival is going on then you can also expect big crowds. Some hotels have EV charging, but again, this is on a case by case basis as it's still a slowly improving area.
Driving in Leeds is alright, it's not as hard as many other major cities, but you can expect a good few one-way systems which will leave you tearing your hair out at points. Some of the shopping areas are pedestrianised, meaning minimal access for drivers. Providing you're staying in a city centre hotel and not doing any activities out of town, you might be better arriving by train.
Hotels
Hotels in Leeds are ideal if you want an easy process when checking in and out. We've all stayed in a hotel, we know the process, while nowadays you can just dump off your key card without having to talk to reception. Having said that, reception can be useful at 2am when you can't find your room key, certainly a lot easier than a house-stay where you might have left the keys on the dancefloor. We at HenPartyDeals love hotels as you can often get breakfast included, something you need after a wild night out.
Another big benefit to hotels is this works quite well when you have a mixed age group, which is common on a hen party, as people will want to sleep at different times. People may also be arriving at different times or even different days, making it more ideal if they can just check-in to their room when they arrive.
Apartments
There is a certain appeal to staying in an apartment, as you can all get ready together rather than in separate rooms. That means you can blast out some music and all sing along together while getting ready. It also means you'll have a shared kitchen area and can eat dinner together before heading out, or breakfast in the morning, if someone is willing to be chef for the weekend. Apartments are ideal up until a certain size, as it tends to be hard if you have a group bigger than 10 people, or you may have to split into multiple apartments.
One big benefit to booking a hen apartment in Leeds is that you can book those mobile activities, such as a butler in the buff, who will come to the apartment and serve you ladies drinks for a good hour with his cheeks out.
Budget Accommodation
Let's just face it, you're not going on a romantic break away, you're going for a wild weekend and you need somewhere to rest your head at 3am, then you're back out and about the next morning, so it can be a bit wasteful to flash the cash on an expensive hotel you'll barely spend time in. For that reason, we have worked on arranging deals with a number of low cost accommodation options to help you keep costs down.
Another rule to this is that you generally want to be based in the city centre, so you don't just get a low cost option, but you don't waste money on taxis or public transport every time you need to head to a restaurant or activity.
Luxury Accommodation
The average age of a hen party has grown over the past 20 years and with that, it also means what people are looking for in accommodation has transitioned, from largely hostels with 16 beds, towards something a bit nicer and classy. For that reason, we have made sure to arrange good prices with hotels and lavish apartments that have agreed to large group bookings. So if you want a nice view, a bigger room or some extra facilities, don't hesitate to talk to our party planners and they'll ensure you have the best possible nights stay.
City Centre Accommodation
With a Leeds stay, being based in the centre is so critical to your plan, whether that's the Leeds Dock, Call Lane, near the station, Greek Street or Merrion Street. You don't want to have to deal with taxis at 3am, or in the morning when you head to your first activity, nor do you want to learn how the local public transport system works. Proximity to the activities you want to do on your weekend is key, so work that part out first, or our party planners can guide you on the closest accommodation options we have nearby.
What kind of accommodation do you need? An apartment for privacy and self catering? Or a hotel where you can be waited on hand and foot? We have a variety of top notch options to choose from and we can’t stress this enough, the money you will save is crazy! Our aim is to save you money so you can have the hen weekend of your dreams that is affordable for everyone. Plus, there’s more money for those cocktails and brand new outfits! Just click to get a quote and remember we will also price match so you won’t find a cheaper deal anywhere else.
