Getting around
It’s easy to navigate Leeds on foot as the city centre is fairly compact, with lots of shopping and iconic landmarks to see along the way. The Leeds and Liverpool Canal runs right through the heart of the city, with picturesque walks and canal boat tours where you can enjoy boozy afternoon tea while watching the world go by. If cycling is your thing then the city has the Beryl Bike hire scheme and decent cycle lanes to explore the city, canal banks and surrounding areas. The bikes cost just £1 to unlock, then from 16p a minute to hire.
The public transport system is incredibly efficient, with regular trains and buses running from 5am - 11pm daily. If you download the MCard App, you can purchase daily travel cards during your stay and catch Leeds City Buses taking you to all corners of the city. The nearest airport to Leeds, is Manchester airport, located approximately 1 Hour and 30 minutes away by rail. The city is incredibly accessible to all hen party members travelling to and within the city.

- Call Lane, this former industrial area is the go-to place for a great night out. You will find a plethora of fancy cocktail bars and live music venues, perfect for any hen party night out.
- Merrion Street is an up and coming area where you can expect to find quirky bars and hidden gems with top notch eateries and DJ's galore.
- Kirkgate Market has been the city’s essential shopping destination for over a century, and is one of Europe’s largest indoor markets, with everything from food and drink to fresh flowers and art. It’s definitely worth a mooch with the girls.
- Victoria Quarter: If the Sex and the City girls visited Leeds, this is where they would go to shop. Home to the flagship Harvey Nicols shop, the arcade also boasts Vivienne Westwood, Louis Vuitton, Mulberry and Reiss.
- Victoria Gate is Victoria Quarter’s sister, and a triumph of contemporary architecture housing yet more high-end shops such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Clarins Spa and the largest John Lewis outside of London.
- The Freedom Quarter is Leeds LGBTQ+ main area where all of the bars are situated. Make sure you call in advance with group bookings to see if there is availability.
Festivals
- Leeds Pride - Yorkshire’s biggest LGBTQ+ celebration and it takes place on the last Sunday in July.
- Leeds Festival - Part of the dual site festival known as the Reading and Leeds Festival, both share the same line up and take place simultaneously during the August bank holiday weekend.

You can’t go wrong in All Bar One, this nationwide chain is renowned for welcoming large groups of hens with tasty cocktails and light bites. Revolution Leeds, Electric Press is yet another hen friendly venue with daily happy hour deals, DJ’s and decent pub grub. Cocktails and international rums are served at the split level venue Revolution De Cuba, It’s a slice of Havana in Leeds town centre, expect serious party vibes. Neighbourhood serves bottomless brunches, bottomless roasts and bottle/booth tables for big hen nights out. Popworld are late night bars famous for their cheesy style, cheesy music and fabulous cocktails. Flight Club is set in a Grade II listed building which combines the heritage of darts with the fun and excitement of a fairground, definitely worth a visit!

Yes, very much so! The city is geared up for students and hen and stag parties. The locals are super friendly and everyone is up for a good time here. The activities are brilliant and match all the other big cities in the UK, while not quite costing the same as the capital, meaning you can order some cheaper drinks in.
Is accommodation expensive?

You will be surprised when you find out what Leeds is famous for, aside from producing Mel B of the Spice Girls and The Kaiser Chiefs, there are some fascinating gems about the Yorkshire city…
- High street giant M&S was created here in 1884, after starting life as a penny stall in Kirkgate Market, the store is now recognised worldwide for quality shopping.
- Fizzy drinks were created at Leeds University by Joseph Priestly who fused water with carbon bubbles in 1767 .
- Another amazing Leeds creation is the Jelly Tot, invented by Leeds research scientist Brian Boffey. NASA were so impressed by his freeze dry technique they asked him to create food for ‘space’ missions.
- Pudsey the Bear, who campaigns relentlessly for the charity Children in Need, was created in Leeds. Pudsey, near Leeds, was the name of the town in which the creator grew up and which she fittingly applied to the mascot.
