Nottingham is an amazing place to spend your hen weekend. Whether you want a big house to rent, providing a self catering option, or you’re after a city centre hotel, we have everything you could want. Our team can also help to find the best option for your budget, whether that’s a boutique hen accommodation or a more budget friendly place to stay the night.
Nottingham isn’t short on options, there are so many great places to stay, while we quality check the places we list and ensure they’re accepting to big group stays.
For the majority of arrivals, you will be coming into Nottingham station, which is actually quite central, so you shouldn’t have a long walk to your hotel, or a bar if you want to get a quick drink in. Once you get off the train, you can hop onto the tram to Old Market Square if you’d rather not walk or you have suitcases on you, with a very regular service throughout the daytime.
When you need to get back to your hotel, there are night buses available, such as the N4, N26 and N34, but most of our hotels are a short walk from the nightclubs. If you opt to stay elsewhere then you should be aware that many of the suburbs and areas on the edge of Nottingham don’t have routes for the night bus, therefore you may need a taxi or an Uber.
Taxis are available all over Old Market Square, Lower Parliament Street and Lace Market.
The tram runs every day from 7am until midnight, while it’s a very convenient way of getting around town, with stops at all the big areas in town you’d most likely want to visit, therefore downloading the Nottingham Express Transit app can certainly be beneficial in advance to arriving.
While hotels and hostels are in the city centre, many hen houses can be much further out, therefore you may be looking at a taxi cost of approximately £20-40 each way, which does add up through the weekend.
On the off-chance that someone is flying over for the big weekend away, then the closest airport is East Midlands Airport, while you can easily book a coach from the airport to town, which takes approximately 35 minutes. Alternatively, there is a Skylink bus which runs 24/7 (less frequently at night). The coach or bus will take you into the centre of town, so ideal if you’re staying at one of the hotels we list.
A number of hotels will have parking facilities available, so do speak to our team if you want to check before booking.
There are city centre car parks, such as Broad Marsh, Lace Market and Trinity Square & Curzon Street, but the prices for a full day are very expensive, therefore you might be better off finding some on-street parking. There are certain controlled zones where it’s free overnight, or you can look to park a bit further out of town. But again, a hotel parking spot is often your best route, or opting for a train instead.
Most of our Nottingham hen accommodation is based in the city centre, whether that’s a hotel, hostel or a hen party house, albeit the houses and apartments are harder to find around the centre, which is why we predominantly recommend our groups opt for a hotel. This way, you’re just a short walk from the bars, restaurants and most of the activities we offer.
We have exclusive deals with some luxurious hen do apartments, so you can have your own private party base, while you can then opt for some more mobile activities such as a butler in the buff. Apartments and houses are also amazing for pre-drinks, having everyone together and playing some games before heading out. It also allows you to eat at home and potentially order in a Supermarket food shop.
The dream is always a Nottingham hen weekend house with a hot tub, therefore we will do our best to list these options, but the deposit is normally much higher than a hotel or a hostel. If you do decide to go for a hostel, you can actually book a private dorm for your group, meaning everyone can get ready together, which is a nice bonding experience, without anyone else having access to the room. This is a much more affordable option for those working to a tighter budget.
But the best option by far is a hotel, whether that’s a premium hotel with all the amenities you could want, from a lavish breakfast to a swimming pool, down to a more basic option, where you can rest your head in a cosy bed after a night of drinking. A number of the hotels also offer room shares to bring down your cost, such as twin rooms, meaning you can also double up with your friends.
