Work together or on opposing teams to solve puzzles, find clues and complete tasks that will ultimately win you your freedom before you run out of time! With many different themes to choose from, you and your hen party can expect to be tested mentally in an immersive adventure game of skill. As the old saying does, teamwork makes the dreamwork and here at Hen Party Deals we think this is one of the best bonding experiences you can have to really cement those friendships in your group
Escape rooms offer a fast-paced immersive experience and you usually need a minimum of six people to participate. With larger hen groups, you can split into two teams which is a fun way to unleash your competitive spirits. Generally you have one hour to navigate the experience, which in our opinion is the perfect amount of time to be using your collective brain power before needing a bathroom break! We offer this activity in many of our hen destininations with Lisbon being one fo the most popular.
Each group will be locked into different themed rooms where you need to solve a puzzle to escape the room, the idea being to beat the other team/s. This is an exciting bonding experience, guaranteed to get your adrenaline pumping and sure to set you up in a great mood for the rest of the day.
This is the perfect daytime activity and we recommend doing it before lunch as you don’t want to be hindered by a full stomach. All that high energy problem solving is guaranteed to get your appetites ready for lunch and a few cheeky cocky-ts afterwards. Records are set by previous winners in each Escape Room, so you always have a goal to try and beat and imagine making it to the wall of fame if you win overall? This gives each group member the chance to shine and show off their mental strength and we can promise an afternoon of laugh-out-loud funny moments.
An escape room is a real-life adventure game where you and your hens work together to unlock the door to freedom. Use your collective brain power to solve clues, puzzles and riddles. Usually there will be more than one room to work through. Sounds easy? There is a catch. You’ll have just 60 – 90 minutes to escape.
These escape rooms are designed to be fun and immersive, not prisons - you can leave at any time and a staff member will always be on hand for any emergencies.
If you don’t solve the puzzle and escape the room within the 60-minute time limit then you won’t win the game. But that's all part of the fun being under pressure to solve the many mysteries! Your middle aged relatives will remember the Crystal Maze, ask them how much fun that was to watch on TV back in the 90s!
Escape rooms vary from venue to venue. A lot of activity providers will ask you to place your belongings — such as phones, cameras, purses and bags — into a secure container which they’ll put somewhere safe for you while you play the game. This is so you avoid carrying around baggage and to make sure you’re not tempted to look up puzzle answers on your smart phones!
There will be toilets just outside of the escape room, usually where you check in on arrival. However, be warned: the clock won’t stop ticking if you slip away to the toilet, so make sure you go before the game starts!
Minimum and maximum numbers vary from room to room, but you’ll always be playing with your hen group rather than strangers. You’ll often have the chance to take on an escape room all together or if your group is large enough, be split up into smaller teams to tackle different rooms and see who’ll get out in the shortest amount of time.
No phones allowed sadly as you could use them to cheat. You’ll need to take group photos before and after to document your experience.
