It is recommended you propose at least eight months before the big day. With busy schedules and finances to organise it is important that your chosen few can commit, so get that date nailed in. Also assuming other friends may also be getting married you will want to snap them up sharpish, reserve those bridesmaids asap!

Scratch Cards 

These are perfect if your bridesmaids aren’t local. You can purchase cute personalised scratch cards, ideal for sending through the post. There are many designs available but in a nutshell the cards have poems written on them and when the bridesmaid scratches off the front section, it will reveal a personal message from you asking her to be your bridesmaid with the date and destination. Such a wonderful surprise! 

Jewellery

This is a sentimental touch that can be kept as a reminder of the occasion. We love knot style earrings and necklaces that come attached to a card with a message, ‘Help us tie the knot’, or ‘ I can’t say I do without you’ simple and witty gestures, guaranteed to incite a few happy tears  

Fortune cookies 

For those of you who like to think outside of the box, how about a personalised fortune cookie? The message could read something along the lines of, ‘You will be a bridesmaid this year…’ or a more direct approach, ‘Will you be my bridesmaid?’ This proposal would work well if you arranged a Chinese meal and asked all your friends to open them at the same time! Wine or Prosecco 

Do you and the girls enjoy having a few cheeky drinks together on a friday night? Then this idea is perfect! We scoured the internet and found the palest pink rose or miniature bottles bubbles with the message, ‘Pairs well with bridesmaid’ emblazoned on the front. The best part is, you can crack open the bottle to toast the occasion!

You could book a performer to ask the question for you at the end of the meal, or even get a specially crafted cake to be brought out before you collectively propose.
