Our packages often include a pre-show meal, if they don’t, we recommend that you get there early to grab a few drinks at the bar before you’re seated for some laughs. Then it’s onto the show! In the intimate atmosphere of these clubs, you’ll be only a few feet away from the comedian – and often they’ll work the audience into their routines. It makes everything that little bit more fun and more relaxed. Who knows, they might even pick out the bride-to-be as part of their routine!
Generally speaking, the comedy events will feature three comedians, so you’ll get to see a variety of styles. So don’t worry if one isn’t in line with your tastes. Ten minutes later there’ll be another funny man/woman ready to have you in stitches.
A comedy club experience is a fantastic start to a hen night. It puts all the girls in a great mood and relaxes you all – leaving you ready to celebrate your hen with your style.
One of our most popular comedy packages in The Laughter Lounge in Dublin, this Southern Irish capital promises to be everything you and the girls need for a hen weekend filled with fun and starting off with a comedy night is the right way to go!
While it depends on the individual product, which we will cover on the page, most comedy shows last 2-3 hours, including a compere who warms up the crowd before introducing 2-3 acts throughout the evening. Again, this depends on what you choose to book, but most evenings involve around 3 comedians.
You will be given an opening time when you can arrive and start ordering drinks in. It's good to arrive with plenty of time so you can get a few drinks and maybe some food before the comedy begins. We can always arrange a food package with your booking, so everyone can eat dinner at the venue.
There is also a last admission time, so be careful not to arrive too late if you have other activities lined up, but if booking through us, we'll make sure nothing collides. The show start time is normally 1-2 hours after the doors open, so everyone can get settled in beforehand. You're also given a finish time, which can be a bit loose at times, depending on how long each act takes, before you head on to some other bars or a nightclub.
This really does depend how vocal the group is and how much they call out the bride for being on a hen party. These comedians are used to dealing with hen and stag do's and have some jokes up their sleeves ready to go, depending on their experience levels. The bride might be asked some basic questions by the comedian, such as when the wedding is, where they're from or what they do for work, lines that can help the comedian think of a relevant joke.
No, this tends to be a very strict rule with comedy clubs, as the comedians don't want their jokes to be leaked online, preventing people from seeing their shows and hearing the jokes for the first time. If you get spotted filming, you will be asked to stop, if it repeatedly happens then they'll throw the group out, so it really is a hard rule.
Having said that, if you arrive when the doors open, you can get some drinks and some snaps as a group before the show starts. At the end of the show, it's quite common to see the comedians flocking to the bar area, so you could always ask for a picture with the comedian, but we can't promise that.
