Chocolate making is always a crowd-pleaser with our hens at Hen Party Deals, and it’s easy to see why! Not only is it the ultimate treat for chocoholics, but it’s also a fabulously fun and hands-on experience. Led by professional chocolatiers (yes, it’s a real job!), you’ll step into a fully equipped kitchen and learn the art of chocolate making. From blending and tempering to achieving that perfect silky-smooth finish and satisfying “snap,” you’ll pick up plenty of expert tips along the way.
And let’s be real, you’re not just here to learn. You’ll get to taste your creations as you go, crafting everything from chocolates to truffles. Whether you take them home to share or nibble your way through the session is entirely up to you (we won’t judge!).
This is the perfect activity for hens who love to get hands-on, have a giggle, and indulge in mountains of chocolate.
This depends on the individual product, but you might be making chocolate truffles, a hugely popular option with classes across the UK. Filled chocolates are possible in some classes, but that is an increased level of complexity, therefore it might be something simpler like decorating the chocolate you've solidified.
You may receive moulds to place your chocolate in, meaning it will form a shape once it has hardened. Depending on the class, some may even have naughty shapes, but I'll leave that to your imagination, most will be much more innocent options.
It's worth noting that much of your chocolate won't actually make it into the mould, it may get stuck to the spoon or in the bowl and we can't have waste, so make sure to turn up with an empty stomach as you'll be required to consume a fair amount.
You may be asked if you'd prefer to use dark, milk or white chocolate (if you count white as chocolate, considering the lack of cocoa beans), while what option you pick will change the temperature it will be heated at in order to yield the best results. Don't worry, you'll have a chocolatier on hand to help guide you and everyone in the group.
While we can't speak for every chocolatier, but most are in the business due to their passion for chocolate, therefore they'll most likely want to explain the process of harvesting, fermentation and drying. Don't hesitate to ask as many questions as possible, they'll undoubtedly know the answers and be eager to answer you on their interest-area.
